Administration

The administrative team of the Hawaii Conference consists of individuals chosen by its constitutency who bring a wealth of creativity, dedication and business expertise to the table. Each makes a significant contribution toward fulfilling the mission of the church in Hawaii.

The President

The president is charged with coordinating the many-faceted mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the State of Hawaii. He is the leader among the elected officers, which include the executive secretary and the treasurer.

The president is ultimately responsible for the work of all departments within the conference organization. The president is a member of many boards and committees in a coordinating and representative role. He assists local churches, and helps develop conference management policies. His goal is to further church unity and mission, and is available as an advisor to any local church and school board. He also is the vice-chair of Hawaiian Mission Academy and the Castle Medical Center.

The president also holds other ministry responsibilities in the Hawaii Conference. He is the coordinator for Evangelism, Hawaii Conference News, Health & Temperance, Ministerial, Prayer Ministry, Prison Ministry, and Ohana (small groups) Ministry.

Like the other officers, the president is responsible to the Hawaii Conference Executive Committee and to the Constituency, and indirectly to the Pacific Union Conference, the North American Division, and the General Conference. The officers all sit on numerous boards and committees where they give council and serve as a voice for the Hawaii Conference.

Executive Secretary

The Secretary of the Hawaii Conference is an administrative officer, along with the President and the Treasurer The Secretary provides administrative leadership and management for departmental directors and associates.

The Executive Secretary also helps direct the work of the Executive Committee and supervises the implementation of its actions. The Secretary keeps most of the official records of the Hawaii Conference, such as the minutes and the index of the Hawaii Conference Executive Committee. He also issues the appropriate credentials and licenses for Hawaii Conference personnel..

Treasurer

The treasurer is the chief financial officer of the Hawaii Conference. In this capacity, he is responsible for safeguarding all monies received by the Hawaii Conference and disbursing them in harmony with policies voted by the Executive Committee. The treasurer maintains accurate and comprehensive accounting of church funds and presents accurate reports on a timely basis.

As chief financial officer, the treasurer coordinates the financial activities of the Hawaii Conference and its school and church-operated organizations.

The treasurer is responsible for the operation of the Hawaii Conference office,its facilities, and its assets. He is also the ministry coordinator for Adventist-laymen's Services and Industries (ASI), Community Services, Education Endowment, Stewardship, and Trust Services.

The Treasurer of the Hawaii Conference is Gary Johnson.
